It’s hard not to be captivated by Brigette Romanek’s creativity and inspired after connecting with her - if I could bottle up her magnetism and spray it all over a room, I would!
I first met Ruthie when I sold her spectacular house in Hancock Park. You can see Ruthie’s style on full display with de Gournay hand painted wallpaper, stunning herringbone brick and oak flooring, cathedral ceilings that open to sun-drenched living areas and french doors galore. See photos and read all about Ruthie’s latest project on my site.
I’ve spent more hours at DryBar than I could possibly count. So when Alli Webb, founder of DryBar, announced she had co-founded a new jewelry line with my longtime friend Meredith Quill, I knew it would be good (spoiler alert: it is).
When I fall in love, I fall hard. This applies to products as well as people, and it perfectly explains why I am completely obsessed with the brand D.S. & DURGA.I love that they are a NYC based, husband and wife collaboration, that Kavi comes from an architecture background and that they both had almost zero experience in the fragrance industry before they launched.
Eric and I met through mutual friends and quickly realized we had a lot in common. I am a huge fan of his work and love to hear his stories about growing up in LA (specifically on the block where I currently live)! His paintings bring a smile to my face and a sense of playfulness and joy to any space they inhabit.
If I could spend all my time outside in beautiful gardens, I would. Lucky for me, a lot of the houses we sell have pretty special outdoor spaces. A well designed and well kept garden is as important to me as what's on the inside. An owner’s sensibility, style and appreciation of nature can be revealed before stepping inside the front door. The garden at the Los Feliz Estate we sold last year was transportive.
I quickly became obsessed with Andrew Douglas and his beautiful family when I sold their Hancock Park home on June Street. They had stunning art throughout their house, but a series of large scale black and white photographs truly caught my eye, which were photos Andrew and his brother Stuart created over 25 years ago when they worked together in London.

With more businesses and restaurants starting to open, I’ve decided it’s time to step out of my quarantine look and refresh my wardrobe for spring. My sweatpants will surely miss me! Accordingly, this week we have an interview with Amy Williams, CEO of Citizens of Humanity, a Los Angeles-based denim company. You don’t want to miss her go-to pieces and recent online shopping indulgences... Enjoy!

“She comes in colors everywhere, she’s like a rainbow.” These Rolling Stones lyrics written on a mirror she designed that hangs in her colorful room that was recently featured in Domino Magazine perfectly describe my daughter, Lucy Lipofsky. She is an artist, an activist and one of the most loving and loyal people I know.
Mixing materials with effortless taste, Interior Designer Elizabeth Law creates spaces that inspire creativity but always feel livable and comfortable. Law’s ability to seamlessly fuse modern elements with antique details sets her work apart and through every project she touches, it’s evident that she looks at how someone will truly live in a space. Touches of flora, candles, and books take it even further to add warmth to a space. Here Law gives us an update on life during quarantine.
Jess Vargas is an incredibly hard worker that took a risk and started Little Sparks Cookies, a unique business that has built a cult following. Not only do her cookies look unreal, but they actually taste unbelievable too. She found a way to use her creative talents to make people feel good and I can’t imagine throwing a party without her cookies as a gift or as part of our spread.

I have said this many times before and I’ll say it again here, “if I had a dollar for every time I’ve been asked (begged) if my husband would design for others, I’d never have to work again!” After leaving a career as an advertising exec, he swore off clients forever. Nothing I or anyone else can do will persuade him otherwise. We, his family, are the lucky beneficiaries of his long list of talents.
